A stator for an electric machine, the stator comprising: a stator core with slots formed in the stator core; anda multi-phase winding arrangement positioned on the stator core, each phase of the winding arrangement including a plurality of conductors defining in-slot portions and end-turns connecting the in-slot portions, the in-slot portions arranged in layers in each of the slots, the plurality of conductors further defining a plurality of paths winding through the layers of the slots, each path of the plurality of paths making multiple wraps around the stator core, wherein the end-turns for each path include mostly standard end turns and at least two non-standard end turns, wherein the standard end turns are defined by a standard pitch and the non-standard end turns are defined by non-standard pitches different than the standard pitch.
